Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from musicians and music blogs as well as the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among her most renowned covers. Katy Perry's endorsement of her track Runaway in a blog entry gave the artist some additional recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in her attic and getting enthralled by the sounds that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music. Not for work or as just a pastime, but to develop. To do this she began to write music that was her own. Like Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother urged her to play her music publicly, not to achieve fame, but rather to inspire others to realize just how important the music they compose and what they can do for the world. When she began playing the piano, she was just 6 years old and was writing her first song at the age of nine. It took until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims that she is a fan of writing songs. She says that music is her favourite way of feeling something.
